Former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis believes that Rinku Singh is the ideal batter to fulfill the number six batting position for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
Since making his debut against Ireland in August 2023, Rinku has left a significant impact on the Indian T20I team. His outstanding performances have positioned him as a formidable contender for the finisher's role in India's squad for the upcoming mega event, scheduled to take place in June 2024.
Rinku's capability to score rapidly and effectively is evident from his impressive strike rate of 188 after 10 T20Is, accompanied by an average of 60 runs. His excellence was showcased during the T20I series against Australia, where he emerged as the highest run-scorer in the penultimate match and sustained his exceptional form throughout the series.

Before the first T20I, which was coincidentally abandoned due to rain, Kallis conversed with Star Sports and praised Rinku as a player of exceptional skill. The renowned all-rounder also said that the left-handed batter has been executing some impressive cricketing shots.
He also said that India should persist with Rinku as their number six batter and allow him to continue in that role.
"He's a class act. You know, as we've seen over the last few months, what he's done for India. Finishing games. It's not just silly cricket. It's a real good cricketing shots when it needs to be. He can attack when he needs to do that towards the back end of an innings”, the all-rounder said.
“So you know the ideal batter to be batting at number six. Along with the rest, the team, that's a formidable finishing to an innings. In case one doesn't come off, you know, you've got a few others that can step up and do it. So for me, Rinku should be the number six and given a proper opportunity”, he concluded.
