India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav extended the lead over batters to stay at the top in the International Cricket Council (ICC) men's T20I Batting Rankings. With a 36-ball 56 in the second T20I against South Africa, Suryakumar achieved a few major feats and remained on top. India’s middle-order batting sensation Rinku Singh made impressive ground after an unbeaten 39-ball 68. After his maiden T20I half-century, Rinku jumped 46 places to 59th.
Suryakumar has a total of 865 rating points, 78 more than second-placed Rizwan. South Africa captain Aiden Markram made good ground as well. He has 758 rating points now. South Africa opener Reeza Hendricks was rewarded for his 49-run knock as he climbed one place to the eighth spot to push England captain Jos Buttler. The only other Indian batter in the top 10 is Ruturaj Gaikwad who missed out on the second T20I due to illness.

Tilak Varma after a cameo in the powerplay overs jumped 10 spots to 55th. Recently crowned no.1 T20I bowler Ravi Bishnoi was dropped from the T20I squad to include Kuldeep Yadav. Bishnoi now shares the top spot with Afghanistan leggie Rashid Khan with 692 rating points. Rashid is currently doing his rehabilitation after going under the knife.
Tabraiz Shamsi who was named 'Player of the match' for conceding just 18 runs from his quota of four overs and picking up a wicket in batting-friendly conditions, rose one spot. Shamsi surpassed an injured Proteas pacer Anrich Nortje on the list. Meanwhile, Axar Patel slipped two positions as he is missing from India's T20I squad for South Africa series.
Kuldeep who took one wicket and conceded 26 runs from three overs jumped five places to 32nd. In the all-rounder rankings, Markram moved up two spots on all-rounder rankings to leave Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi and India's fast-bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya behind. Markram took the wicket of wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma and conceded 29 runs from the three overs he bowled.
In the Test rankings, New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips was rewarded for his all-round performance. He is now placed 55th on the batter rankings. On the list of all-rounders, he went 42 places above to reach the 24th spot. Left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel who took six wickets in the second innings moved up seven places to 33rd on the list of Test bowlers. Bangladesh's Mehiidy Hasan and Nayeem Hasan moved up as well to the 21st and 44th spots respectively.
