ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is unlikely to be hosted by Pakistan in its entirety.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made it clear that India won't travel to Pakistan for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. While there is uncertainty over hybrid model and hosting rights of the mega tournament, India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav was confronted by a fan in South Africa over the issue.

In a gaming arcade, a few Pakistani fans met Suryakumar and clicked photos with him. Then they asked Suryakumar, "Mujhe ek baat bata saktein hai ke Pakistan kyu nahi aa rahe aap (Tell me why are you not coming to Pakistan)?".

Suryakumar made it clear that it is not their decision as he said, "Arrey bhaiya, hamare hath mein thodi hai (Brother, it is not in our hands)".

The video of the exchange has been making rounds on social media ahead of the third T20I of the four-T20I series on November 13 at SuperSport Park, Centurion.

Meanwhile, the ICC has asked PCB to adopt hybrid model for Champions Trophy 2025 with India's matches in United Arab Emirates (UAE). If PCB doesn't agree to a hybrid model, the tournament in its entirety is likely to be shifted to South Africa. The uncertainty over the venue is the reason behind not announcing the schedule for the event.

Surya's run in T20I series so far

In the ongoing T20I series, Suryakumar is yet to register a big score. In the first T20I, he was dismissed for 21 as Sanju Samson went on to score his second century on the trot in the format. In the second T20I on a tricky surface, he became Andile Simelane's maiden T20I wicket. He departed after scoring just four runs. India ended up losing the low-scoring contest by three wickets. He was also criticised for not using Axar Patel in the slog overs when spinners were getting assistance from the wicket.
