Former India captain and maverick batter, Virat Kohli is looking forward to catching up with his old mate Chris Gayle somewhere down the line, especially when the team is in Jamaica.

"Well Chris, I have hung out with him for so many years. I am sure that when we are in Jamaica, we will definitely go and meet Chris. He always invites the team home to have a good time and just chill out," Kohli said on 'Follow the Blues' on Star Sports.

Kohli and Gayle played a ton of cricket together when the latter was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in the Indian Premier League. There are multiple videos on social media showcasing the camaraderie between Kohli and Gayle, both on and off the field.

The Indian superstar said everyone likes the 'Universe Boss' for his humble nature and hospitality.

"So I am sure he is going to do the same again if he is in town. Everyone loves him. We went last time as well to his place, we had a great time and he is such a humble guy. Definitely, if he is free and he is in town, sure we are going to catch up with him," he added.

When asked to reveal his favourite knock in West Indies, Kohli was quick to talk about the double century he had scored in Anitgue in front of legend Sir Viv Richards.

"My favorite memory obviously is Antigua. I got my first-ever double hundred in Test cricket in Antigua in front of Sir Vivian Richards. That for me was a very, very special moment and then he met me in the evening as well and congratulated me. It can't get any better than that," he said.

Rohit Sharma-led Team India is gearing up for a full-throttle bilateral series against the West Indies. The Indian side is already in the Caribbean undergoing rigorous training as the first Test of the tour is scheduled to begin in a couple of days. India and West Indies will lock horns in the first of two Test series from July 12 (Wednesday).
