Former Team India captain Virat Kohli, who is playing his 500th international match in the second Test of the two-match series between India and West Indies, scored an unbeaten 87 runs to give India a strong platform. In doing so, Kohli also became the first batter to score 50 or more runs in the 500th match of his international career.

However, during this game, Kohli also ran fiercely between the wickets. He taunted the West Indies wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva and one of his many reactions is now going viral on social media.

What did Kohli say?

To put pressure on the West Indies, Kohli did not just hit brilliant shots — He also ran between the wickets very well. Kohli took stole two runs on three separate occasions in the 72nd over as he taunted the West Indies wicketkeeper throughout his innings. Kohli dived while running between the wickets to complete his run and also save his own wicket. After this when Kohli stood up, he told the West Indies wicketkeeper that since 2012, I have been stealing two runs like this.

His records on Day 1

Kohli is now just 13 runs away from the 76th century of his international career. The 34-year-old former India opener hit eight fours during his innings of 161 balls. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja has faced 84 balls so far, with 4 fours to his name. Jadeja and Kohli have so far shared 106 runs in 201 balls for the fifth wicket.

About the match:

West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and decided to bowl first. His decision proved fatal for the Windies team as their bowlers bowled short balls but openers Rohit and Yashasvi tackled them with ease. Rohit and Yashasvi shared a 139-run partnership for the first wicket, — the best opening partnership for an Indian pair on the Port of Spain.
