The BCCI has announced big change in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024's schedule for two upcoming matches. Notably, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) versus Rajasthan Royals (RR) clash, which was originally scheduled for April 17 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, will now be played a day earlier on April 16. Meanwhile, another match which has been rescheduled is Gujarat Titans versus Delhi Capitals. Earlier, this match was previously slated for April 16 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will now be played on April 17.

"The Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad was earlier scheduled to host the match between Gujarat Titans & Delhi Capitals on April 16, 2024. The fixture will now be played on April 17, 2024," BCCI's said in its statement.
Meanwhile, the race for the top spot in IPL 2024's points table is heating up. Currently, Rajasthan Royals (RR) have surged to top of the standings after their emphatic win against Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is close on heels with RR, beautifully placed at second spot as they remained undefeated so far in the IPL 2024. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered their first defeat against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Vizag, but still hold onto a place in the top four alongside Gujarat Titans (GT).
Notably, BCCI opted for a two-phase approach to unveiling the IPL 2024 schedule. The initial announcement covered the first 21 matches, with the remaining 53 fixtures (including playoffs) revealed later to accommodate the general election schedule. The season's second phase officially kicks off on April 8th with the Chennai Super Kings taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Playoff matches will maintain their usual evening time slots. This year marks a special occasion for Chennai cricket fans, as the city will host its first IPL final in 12 years on May 26. The iconic M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, also known as Chepauk, has previously hosted the IPL finals twice, in 2011 and 2012.
