IPL 2024: Yuvraj Singh strongly endorses six hitting machine's selection in India's T20 World Cup squad, says 'got the skill to be the gamechanger'

Legendary India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has strongly endorsed the selection of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) explosive batter Shivam Dube's selection in India's T20 World Cup squad. The left-handed muscular batter Shivam Dube has turned into a six-hitting machine and his consistent production with the bat for the Super Kings has earned huge appreciation from cricket followers. In his latest outing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Dube played a belligerent cameo of 45 runs in 24 balls with the help of four sixes and two fours.

After Dube sizzled with the bat against the Sunrisers, Yuvraj took to X (formerly Twitter) and batted for the left-handed batter's selection in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup and deemed him a 'gamechanger'.

"Good to watch @IamShivamDube clearing the field with ease !! I feel he has to be in the World Cup squad. Has got the skill to be the #gamechanger #CSKvsSRH #IPLT20," Yuvraj wrote on X.

Shivam Dube's eye-popping numbers

Talking about Dube's performance with the bat this season, the CSK batter has scored 148 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 160.87. The lanky southpaw has whacked nine fours and 10 sixes. Dube was a massive part of CSK's title-winning team last season.

In IPL 2023, the muscular batter evolved as a genuine match-winner with his explosive batting skills. He scored 418 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 158.33. Dube smashed a mind-boggling 35 sixes in the campaign along with 12 fours. With his imperious transformation, Dube earned a return to the Indian side.

If you look at Dube's six-hitting prowess in the last three seasons, including the ongoing edition of the cash-rich tournament, Dube has smoked a total of 61 sixes in just 31 matches.
