While Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have not had much to celebrate about as the Faf du Plessis-led side have won just one out of seven games. As RCB bowlers have been below par, fans in the stadium have often chanted ‘Kohli ko bowling do’. In the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Virat Kohli almost fulfilled fans’ wishes at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. As Sunil Narine and Phil Salt came to open the innings, Kohli handed his orange cap to the umpire and started warming up. He acted like setting the field too before taking his cap back from the umpire.
Later, Kohli had a fun conversation with Narine who scored a century against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the previous encounter. Narine who is rarely seen smiling was laughing after what Kohli said to him.

After Kohli had his fun, Mohammed Siraj took the ball in hand to open the bowling. Siraj did not play in the previous game. Siraj was hit for a six and a four in the first over by Salt. On the other end, Narine struggled and managed to score just 10 runs from 15 balls. The Caribbean all-rounder lost his wicket to Yash Dayal in the sixth over.

Kohli hasn't bowled in the IPL since the 2016 edition. The last time he took a wicket in the IPL was in 2011.
However, ‘Kohli ko bowling do’ chants were heard during the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. Skipper Rohit Sharma obliged to the crowd’s requests against Netherlands and he he took his fifth ODI wicket.
Kohli – the leading run-scorer
Kohli is currently the leading run-scorer of the tournament. Before the clash against KKR, he had scored 361 runs from seven innings including one century and two half-centuries. However, his strike rate of 147.35 was questioned by many.
