Covid-19 hits Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 once again as Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) left-arm fast bowler T Natarajan has tested positive for virus ahead of clash against Delhi Capitals (DC). Following protocols, Natarajan has isolated himself from the rest of squad. SRH revealed in a press release that he is currently asymptomatic.

Along with Natarajan, his six close contacts including all-rounder Vijay Shankar, Vijay Kumar (Team Manager), Shyam Sundar J (Physiotherapist), Anjana Vannan (Doctor), Tushar Khedkar (Logistics Manager) and Periyasamy Ganesan (Net Bowler) have been isolated as well.

The six close contacts and the rest of contingent have underwent RT-PCR tests at 6:30 AM IST and have tested negative for the virus.

Despite the concerning news, tonight’s clash between SRH and DC at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai will go ahead as planned.

Earlier this year, SRH’s clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) was also postponed due to Covid-outbreak.
