IPL 2022: DC set to miss these key players against MI; know probable playing XI here

In the second match of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians (MI) will start their campaign against Delhi Capitals (DC). Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium is slated to host the match on March 27 (Sunday).


New players

Mumbai Indians will not have players like- Trent Boult, Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya, this time but they have also roped in players who can produce match-winning performances. MI have players like Kieron Pollard, Ishan Kishan and Tim David, in their squad, who can give captain Rohit Sharma a lot of confidence.


Ishan Kishan can open with skipper Rohit Sharma for MI. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah and Jaydev Unadkat will have to showcase their terrific bowling skills for the Mumbai-based franchise. The Rohit Sharma-led side will although miss Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav in the first match of the IPL as he is yet to recover totally from his injury.


Mumbai Indians (MI) had successfully managed to retain four players ahead of the mega IPL auction and they are- skipper Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard.


Unavailable players

On the other hand, David Warner, who was roped in by the Delhi Capitals franchise for an amount of Rs 6.25 Crore will not be available due to international duties. Apart from Warner, DC will miss players like Anrich Nortje and Mitchell Marsh against MI in their first match of IPL 2022.


Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant will depend a lot on his side’s batting as their batting unit is comprised of players like- Prithvi Shaw, Tim Seifert, Mandeep Singh. On the other hand, the Delhi-based franchise will have some brilliant all-rounders like Rovman Powell, Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel. Apart from these, DC can also depend on India’s U-19 World Cup-winning skipper Yash Dhull and Sarfaraz Khan. DC’s bowling unit will be comprised of players like- Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Chetan Sakariya and Khaleel Ahmed.


The Delhi-based franchise had retained- skipper Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw and Anrich Nortje ahead of the mega IPL 2022 auction.
