Deepak Hooda's half-century for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Rajasthan Royals (RR) was not enough to help his side to a win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season but the batter's 59 off just 39 balls was enough to push him up the ladder and into fourth place on the Orange Cap standings after Sunday, May 15's matches.
LSG skipper KL Rahul, meanwhile, ensured that current leader Jos Buttler was dismissed for just two runs, but could not capitalise on the Englishman's drop in form, with the 30-year-old bagging just 10 runs in the match against RR, which his side went on to lose.
Another player who moved up the rankings despite a poor show is Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Shubman Gill. The youngster hit just 18 runs before being bowled LBW BY IPL debutant Matheesha Pathirana. However, the batting of his opening partner Wriddhiman Saha ensured the win for GT.
