Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) locked horns with Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Eden Gardens on Saturday (April 29) which saw Rashid Khan, Nitish Rana and Andre Russell stepping on big milestones as the troika completed unique centuries. While, GT's star spinner completed his 100th appearance in the IPL, Russel turned up for his 100th match for KKR. Meanwhile, the KKR versus GT clash also marked Nitish Rana's 100th appearance in the glitzy league.
Talking about Russell, he is playing his 150th IPL match overall.

This is the second time KKR and GT are clashing with other. In the earlier clash, which was one of the epic matches in IPL history, KKR won by three wickets. In the thrilling encounter, Gujarat batted first and shattered a marvellous knock of 204/4 in first innings. Sai Sudharsan (53) and Vijay Shankar (63*) smacked valiant knocks for the team. In reply, Venkatesh Iyer (83) and Nitish Rana (45) whacked vivacious knocks for KKR. Stand-in skipper Rashid Khan hunted a hat-trick to dominate KKR. However, when Kolkata needed 28 runs off the final over, left-handed batter Rinku Singh shattered 5 consecutive sixes to snatch an unbelievable victory for the team.
Talking about the current match, GT skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first.
“We will bowl first. Just because of the weather, it was bright and we thought we should bat, but it has changed now. I'm pretty happy with where we are, 7 games gone, 7 more to come, we need to play good cricket and qualify for the playoffs. We are playing the same team,” GT captain Hardik said after winning the toss.
“We would have batted first, DLS could come into the equation, but we would still have batted first. There are always areas where we can improve, we have had some forced changes - Jason Roy has a back issue, he's replaced by Gurbaz. Harshit Rana replaces Umesh Yadav,” KKR skipper Nitish Rana said after the toss.
