Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul is well on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery. Rahul posted photos of himself standing with the help of crutches. In the photos, his wife and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty can be seen as well.

Rahul shared the snaps with caption: “Out and about”. Rahul’s LSG teammate Mohsin Khan commented on the photo wishing him “Get well soon bhaiya”.

Earlier this week Rahul had informed his fans about the successful surgery. "I just got done with my surgery - it was successful," Rahul wrote in a post.

"A bit thank you to the doctors and medical staff for making sure I was comfortable and everything went smoothly."

"I'm officialy on the road to recovery now."

"I'm determined to get back to my best and get back on the field," Rahul further wrote.

Rahul got injured earlier this month while trying to save a boundary during clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Rahul was in immense pain and had to leave the field immediately. He came in to bat in the penultimate over and could not score a single run from three balls as LSG lost to RCB at home.

In his absence, Krunal Pandya has taken over LSG’s captaincy. On May 13, LSG beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Prerak Mankad batted up the order and scored his maiden IPL half-century. He had support from Marcus Stoinis in the middle over. In slog overs, Nicholas Pooran played a blinder of a knock to turn the game upside down and guide LSG home. LSG are now fourth on the points table with 13 points from 12 games.

Rahul’s replacement for World Test Championship (WTC) final has been named as well. Ishan Kishan has been added to the WTC squad. He is likely to be the backup wicketkeeper when Rohit Sharma-led India take on Pat Cummins’ Australia at the Oval on June 7.
