After losing their first two matches, four-time title holders Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clash with Punjab Kings (PBKS) as the Ravindra Jadeja-led side won the toss and opted to field first in their third match of the IPL 2022 on Sunday (April 3).

As far as playing XI are concerned, PBKS made two changes to their side as they handed two caps - Jitesh Sharma and Vaibhav Arora are making their debuts. Meanwhile, CSK brought in Chris Jordan in place of Tushar.

"Looks like a good surface for batting. So we want to put runs on the board and let that pressure play. Couple of changes. Vaibhav comes in place of Harpreet Brar, Jitesh comes in place of Raj Bawa. Vaibhav can swing the ball both ways, so he is someone who we are excited about. Jitesh can tonk the ball," PBSK captain Mayank Agarwal said before the match.

"We are bowling. We try to keep things simple, we are an experienced team. We back each and every player. One change, Chris Jordan comes in place of Tushar," CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja said.

CSK lost their first two matches in the IPL 2022 as they went down to Kolkata Knight Riders in the season opener on first and then failed to defend 210 against Lucknow Super Giants in their second clash. This is the first time CSK have lost their first two matches in an IPL season.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings, on the other hand, have quite a few big hitters in their ranks, but they faltered against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Pitch report

It is really going to be an exciting batting match I feel. Perhaps the Man of the Match I feel is going to be this fellow here (groundstaff). He is spraying Apsa 80 and that is is an anti-dew agent, which is going to be play a big part in the match. Rod Tucker and Javagal Srinath came down for a late inspection. The order of the day was that these guys spray it late to try and avoid the dew factor," says former Australia batter Matthew Hayden

Head-to-Head

Four times IPL champions CSK hold a distinct advantage against Punjab Kings having won 15 of the 25 matches they have played so far against each other.
