Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to field first against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Wankhede Stadium on May 21. Rohit said two changes to his side. He brought back Dewald Brevis in place of Tristan Stubbs. Also, Hrithik Shokeen has made his way back into the side for Sanjay.
“We are going to bowl first. Good track. Wanted to have a score in front of us. Crucial for us that we restrict them and then bat freely. We were inconsistent throughout the season. The talk in the group is that we need to come together. There will be a few eyes on us, so we got to come up with the best. We have tried a few things in the last few games keeping an eye on the future. We want to finish on a high. Two changes. Brevis back in for Stubbs. Shokeen in place of Sanjay, who is injured.,” Rohit said at the coin toss.
Rishabh Pant made one major change to his side as well for the must-win clash. Prithvi Shaw, who missed few matches after falling ill, has come back into the side in place of Lalit Yadav.
During the coin toss, it started drizzling at Wankhede stadium and covers were brought in as Rohit listed out the changes in his side. On the other hand, Arjun Tendulkar will go another season without making his IPL debut. Son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun was picked for Rs 30 lakh by MI. However, before the game, he was seen marking his run-up with the tape.
