Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will lock horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede stadium on Saturday (April 22). MI got the better of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 14 runs in their last match and with this they also scripted a hat-trick of victories after losing the first two encounters in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The win was against SRH was special for Arjun Tendulkar, who was playing just his second match of the IPL after making his debut against KKR. While chasing 192/5, SRH needed 20 runs off the last over which Arjun was bowling. Arjun just conceded 6 runs off the last over and also dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar to snare his maiden IPL wicket. With Bhuvneshwar's wickets, Arjun achieved a glory which even his father Sachin Tendulkar couldn't taste during his stint with MI.

Talking about the senior Tendulkar, the Master Blaster in a total of 78 IPL matches for MI, amassed 2334 runs between 2008 and 2013. He also led the Paltans 51 matches in which he notched 30 victories and 21 defeats. But despite such great records, the senior Tendulkar couldn't take single stint during his IPL tenure.

Meanwhile, right ahead of MI versus PBKS clash on Saturday, former India head coach Ravi Shastri was all praise for Arjun's temperament and clarity of thought which he showed while bowling the final over against SRH which earned MI an important victory.

"There was a clarity of thought in the way Arjun executed those yorkers in the final over. He worked brilliantly on the change of pace and he now has achieved something which his father couldn't. Sachin never had an IPL wicket, and Arjun has surpassed him," Shastri said on Star Sports' 'Cricket Live' show.

Mumbai will look to continue their winning streak in the match against PBKS as they are placed sixth on the IPL 2023's points table with three wins in a total of five games.

Going by the head-to-head record between MI and PBKS, they have faced each other 29 times in IPL history. While MI have won 15 of the 29 games, PBKS have won 14 games.
