Rohit Sharma becomes first player in the world to achieve this historic feat shattering Kieron Pollard's all-time record

While chasing a target of 144 runs, Rohit anchored the innings and ensured the team crossed the finish line comfortably in the 16th over. Notably, this was Rohit's second consecutive half-century in IPL 2025, following his unbeaten 76-run knock against Chennai Super Kings.

Concerns had been raised regarding Rohit Sharma's form after the superstar batter's batting struggles with coincided with MI's early match defeats. However, MI have since staged a remarkable turnaround, securing four consecutive victories which has propelled them to the third position in the IPL 2025 points table.

During his impactful 70-run innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rohit Sharma scripted a historic milestone for Mumbai Indians. By hitting three sixes in that knock, the former captain elevated his total number of sixes for MI to an impressive 260 in the history of T20 cricket.

Rohit Sharma now holds the record for hitting the most sixes for Mumbai Indians franchise in T20 cricket. His tally of 260 sixes surpasses any other batter who has represented the team. Out of his total of 298 sixes in the IPL, 244 have been scored while playing for MI, with the remaining 51 coming during his time with the Deccan Chargers. Additionally, Rohit has hit 16 sixes while representing MI in the Champions League T20.
