Travis Head shatters Virender Sehwag, Heinrich Klaasen's record to clock mega IPL feat during MI vs SRH clash

Sunrisers Hyderabad's explosive batter achieved a sensational feat during the IPL 2025 clash against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede stadium

Travis Head became the second-fastest batter to crack 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League.

Travis Head took only 575 deliveries to notch 1000-run mark. Notably, only Andre Russell of the Kolkata Knight Riders has accomplished this feat at a faster rate, crossing the 1000-run mark in a mere 545 balls.

This achievement marked Travis Head's 31st innings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Australian opening batsman started his IPL journey with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where he played for the franchise in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Subsequently, in 2024, he was acquired by the Sunrisers Hyderabad and went on to have a highly successful season, scoring 567 runs at an impressive strike rate of 191.55.

Travis Head's Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) teammate, Heinrich Klaasen, occupies the third position on the list of fastest batsmen to reach 1000 IPL runs in terms of balls faced. Among Indian players, Virender Sehwag holds the record of being the quickest to achieve this 1000-run milestone in the IPL.
