Bangladesh’s left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been dropped from Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) instructed the three-time IPL-winning franchise to release the Bangladeshi pacer who was roped in for Rs 9.2 crore at the mini-auction. While KKR are not obligated to pay Mustafizur, the management is sweating over his replacement for the upcoming season.
Fazalhaq Farooqi
Afghanistan’s left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi’s base price was Rs 1 crore. He was released by Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the mini-auction. Farooqi is currently represented MI Emirates in the ILT20 2025-26. From 149 T20Is, he has 186 wickets at an average of 21.20, including four five-wicket hauls.

In the previous IPL edition, he remained wicketless in five games and had an economy rate of 12.35 runs per over. The 25-year-old has played two IPL seasons for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Richard Gleeson
England pacer Richard Gleeson registered at a base price of Rs 75 lakh. The 38-year-old has been representing Texas Super Kings in the ongoing SA20 2025-26. So far, Gleeson has taken 157 wickets from 134 games at an average of 22.83, including a fifer.
In the previous edition, Gleeson was picked as a replacement player by MI. He played just one game against Gujarat Titans (GT). Earlier, he had represented Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2024.
Alzarri Joseph
West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph has not been in action for months due to a lower back injury. Joseph has plenty of experience in T20 cricket. From 168 T20s, the Caribbean pacer has 200 wickets at an average of 25.70, including two fifers. He is capable of contributing with the bat down the order.
In IPL 2024, Joseph got just one wicket from three games. He made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2019. In 2022, he was picked by Gujarat Titans (GT) and played two seasons for them. The 29-year-old had opted for a base price of Rs 2 crore.
Gerald Coetzee
South Africa pacer Gerald Coetzee had also opted for a base price of Rs 2 crore. From 77 T20s, he has 97 wickets at an average of 23.53, including five four-fers.
Coetzee made his IPL debut for MI, taking 13 wickets from 10 games. In the previous season, he played just four games for GT and claimed two wickets.
Will Sutherland
Another pace bowling all-rounder on the list is Australia’s Will Sutherland who is captaining Melbourne Renegades in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2025-26.
Sutherland had registered for a base price of Rs 1 crore. Sutherland has played 79 T20s and scored 877 runs, including three fifties. He has claimed 50 wickets at an average of 36.12. He is yet to make his IPL debut.
