Story Highlights:

Harbhajan Singh said he has never seen Mumbai Indians display such flat body language during his association with the franchise.

MI became the second team to be eliminated from IPL 2026 after their defeat against RCB.

Mumbai Indians (MI) suffered another defeat in IPL 2026, failing to defend 167 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday, May 10 at the  Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur. With this loss, MI became the second team eliminated from the competition after Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Harbhajan Singh reflects on Mumbai Indians' torrid IPL 2026

Former MI star Harbhajan Singh has tried to find the key reason behind MI's torrid run in the ongoing IPL 2026. In an interaction with JioHotstar, the former India spinner claimed the losing streak has drained the team's confidence, which took a dent at their fighting spirit.

"The body language of the Mumbai Indians, which also plays a big role, is something I have never seen like this before," said Harbhajan.

While making a comparison to his own experience at MI, Harbhajan recalled that MI players never had such a flat body experience.

"I have been part of this team for nearly 10 years. Even when we were losing, like in the season where we lost five in a row, our body language was never flat; the will to fight back was always there. Right now, that confidence is missing," added Harbhajan.

Next stop for MI

After facing elimination, MI will lock horns with Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings in their upcoming clash on Thursday, May 14 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

Currently, MI sit at ninth place with only six points in hand after playing 11 matches (three victories and eight losses) in the tournament at a net run rate of -0.585. It will be interesting to see if MI can finish the tournament on a good note by winning all the remaining games.
