The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025's Most Valuable Player (MVP) Suryakumar Yadav continued his form with the bat and scored an unbeaten 27-ball half-century. But, his fifty went in vain as Triumphs Knights MNE lost to Eagle Thane Strikers by five wickets. After Musheer Khan faced defeat on T20 Mumbai League 2025 debut, his Punjab Kings (PBKS) teammate Suryansh Shedge ended up on the losing side for the second time in 24 hours.
On June 4, Eagle Thane Strikers captain Atharva Ankolekar won the toss and opted to bowl first. Triumphs Knights MNE opener Jigar Surendra Rana scored a 42-ball 53. In the 12th over, captain Suryakumar walked out to bat at no.4. He hit eight fours and one six in his 27-ball 50 to help Triumphs Knights MNE to post 179/7 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. Shedge could not get going and was dismissed for a run-a-ball eight.
In the run chase, Eagle Thane Strikers opener Varun lavande scored a 38-ball 57. Towards the end, Sairaj Patil's unbeaten 22-ball 47 laced with three fours and four sixes helped Eagle Thane Strikers win by five wickets with four balls to spare. Shedge had a chance to prove himself with the ball as well. But, he conceded 19 runs from one over. In the end, Suryakumar introduced himself to bowl the last over. He conceded four runs from two balls.

Shedge's debut IPL season
Shedge who was one of the most exciting talents picked by PBKS did not have a good debut IPL season. The Mumbai all-rounder was roped in for his base price of Rs 30 lakh. He made his IPL debut against Gujarat Titans (GT) but did not get to bat. In his third match, he walked out to bat against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and departed after scoring just two runs. He registered single-digit scores against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as well. From three innings, he scored seven runs. Against CSK, he bowled three overs and conceded 40 runs. In the Qualifier 1 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Musheer was preferred ahead of him to play as impact player.
