Delhi Capitals (DC) put an end to their three-game losing streak after securing a comfortable seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. KL Rahul was the star player of the game as he was given the Player of the Match award for his astonishing 75 runs off 40 deliveries.
KL Rahul makes big revelation
After the game finished, KL Rahul revealed that the environment in DC's dressing room remained stable despite losing three games in a row, saying the side was just failing to grab the key moments in the games. Rahul believes that the Delhi-based franchise is doing well in giving tough competition to rival teams but there is a big scope in being clinical.
The star opener expressed happiness over the win against RR, as this could change the momentum for Delhi in the upcoming games to clinch key victories.
"At the end of the day, we play the sport to win. After playing for so many years, numbers do matter. I mean, you’re happy that you score runs and you score these big runs and break records. But if you don’t get the W after the game, it’s not as much fun. The dressing room’s always been in a decent place. We try to keep that dressing room as balanced as possible," said KL Rahul.
"And we do realise that the results haven’t gone our way, but if you really have to dig deep and see if we’re making blunders or if we’re making big mistakes, that wasn’t the case. We had some honest conversations in the dressing room. Yes, we couldn’t cash in on the big moments. Except for the last game, every other game we were in the contest and one over, if it went our way, we would have been on the winning side," added KL Rahul.
Delhi Capitals' position in points table
After winning against RR the Axar Patel-led side sit at the sixth place with eight points in hand after playing nine games in the ongoing IPL 2026 season, at a net run rate of -0.895. It will be interesting to see if DC can continue their positive momentum in the competition.
DC will lock horns against Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their upcoming IPL 2026 clash on May 5. The Delhi-based side will aim for revenge after the earlier loss at Chepauk.
