Rajasthan Royals' opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is reaching a new milestone after every innings in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. The 15-year old smashed a blistering knock of 78 runs off 26 deliveries against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday, April 10 at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
Big feat for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
This was Sooryavanshi's second fifty-plus score in the ongoing season, having earlier smashed 52 off 17 against Chennai Super Kings in RR's campaign opener. Interestingly, he reached both half-centuries in just 15 balls, becoming only the second batter in IPL history to achieve the feat.
In the IPL 2024 season, Australia's Jake Fraser-McGurk also scored two fifties in 15 balls while playing Delhi Capitals. Given Vaibhav's current scoring form, it wouldn't be a surprise if he manages to better this record in the next few games with another rapid 15-ball half-century.
Next challenge for Rajasthan Royals
The Riyan Parag-led side will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next game on Monday, April 13 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. It will be interesting to see if the Royals can continue their winning streak against the Sunrisers.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's red-hot form in IPL 2026
In the IPL 2026 season, the 15-year-old batter has managed to score 200 runs for Rajasthan Royals in just four games at an amazing strike rate of 266.67. Kicking off the campaign with a 15-ball half-century against Chennai Super Kings in their campaign opener, followed with two rapid knocks of 31 off and 39 off 14 against Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians respectively.
After his player-of-the-match innings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, He holds the Orange Cap with 200 runs so far in the tournament, closely followed by teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal with 183 runs.

Rajasthan Royals have kicked off the IPL 2026 season in dominant fashion, winning their first four consecutive games to sit at the top of the points table with eight points in hand and a high NRR of +2.055.
