Fans are patiently waiting for Rohit Sharma's comeback in Mumbai Indians' (MI) batting lineup in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. The star opener is sidelined because of a hamstring injury, picked up in a game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), since then the former India skipper is trying to achieve full fitness.
Amid the uncertainty around his comeback, Rohit once again won hearts with his heartwarming gesture, as the star opener focused on the immediate well-being of a stadium worker over his own training session.

In an optional practice session on Sunday, May 3, Rohit was working hard to regain full fitness by batting in the nets. The former MI skipper smashed a powerful shot which accidently hit a groundsman, Siban Biswas.
Siban was hit directly on his knee, seeing that Rohit immediately left his practice to ask about his injury and tried to make sure he received proper medical attention.

The star opener declined to go back to training until he was sure that Siban was getting proper treatment and medical aid reached him without any delay.
In an interaction with Mid-Day, Siban revealed the first hand experience of his encounter with the former India skipper. The groundsman revealed that Rohit did not waste a second in inquiring about his injury, while Siban asked him to continue his practice session, before Rohit offered him an ice pack, medicine and spray.
"Rohit sir immediately came and asked about my injury. I urged him to continue, but after a while, he brought an ice pack and also sent medicine and spray," revealed Biswas.
How Rohit Sharma fared in IPL 2026
After playing only four matches, Rohit Sharma has managed to amass 137 runs at a strike rate of 165.06 with the help of 13 fours and eight sixes in IPL 2026. After a great start to the season, the former India skipper stands at 13th place in the Orange Cap race.
The Hardik Pandya-led side will look for Rohit's arrival to end the season on a positive note despite early elimination from the playoff race.
