India's premier left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has become the most expensive Indian player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction history. At the IPL 2025 mega auction at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Arshdeep broke Yuvraj Singh's record of Rs 16 crore which was created in 2015. However, the record was later broken by Rishabh Pant.

The joint-highest wicket-taker of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 started a full-blown bidding war between several franchises. In the end, it was Punjab Kings who managed to acquire his services for a whopping INR 18 crore.

At first, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) got him for RS 15.75 crore. However, Punjab Kings (PBKS) exercised the Right to Match (RTM) card to rope him back. SRH increased the bid to INR 18 crore and PBKS chose to retain him.

Amongst Indian bowlers, Deepak Chahar was the most expensive bowler in the auction. Chahar was roped in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2022.
