This exact scenario played out in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, where a couple in the midst of their wedding ceremony chose to pause their vows to ensure they didn't miss RCB's winning moment.

According to a video shared by a guest on X, attendees at the wedding gathered in front of a large screen television. As Josh Hazlewood bowled the final delivery of the last over, a wave of cheers erupted, with chants of 'RCB, RCB' echoing throughout the wedding hall, demonstrating the widespread excitement surrounding the team's victory.

The win marked a watershed moment as it was the first time RCB had ever clinched the IPL trophy, bringing an end to Virat Kohli's 18-year wait for this particular achievement.

"This team made the dream possible, a season I’ll never ever forget. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride over the last 2.5 months. This one is for the fans of rcb who never ever left our side in the worst of times. This one is for all the years of heartbreaks and disappointment. This is for every inch of effort left on the field playing for this team. As far as the ipl trophy is concerned- you’ve made me wait 18 years to be able to lift you and celebrate my friend, but it’s been absolutely worth the wait," Kohli's Instagram post read.

Talking about the match, after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, RCB managed to put up a competitive total of 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Virat Kohli led the charge with a solid innings of 43 runs off 35 deliveries, while Jitesh Sharma provided a late flourish with a quick cameo of 24 runs from just 10 balls. Despite a valiant and heroic effort from Shashank Singh, who remained unbeaten on 61 runs from 30 balls, PBKS fell short of the required score. For RCB, Krunal Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled crucial spells, each taking two wickets. Krunal Pandya's economical bowling performance, conceding just 17 runs, earned him the Player of the Match award.
