Delhi Capitals (DC) take on Gujarat Titans (GT) as Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash at the Arun Jaitley stadium on May 18.
What did the captains say after the toss?
After winning the toss, GT skipper Shubman Gill said:
"We will bowl first. Not easy to start all over again, but good rest for our pacers, KG comes back, that's a positive for us. We've had a good run, but we have three games and we're looking to win all of them. That's the thing with every match, we have to start fresh, our fielding hasn't been the best, we've worked hard on it. We're hoping that everyone will come back and perform, looks like a good wicket, plenty ofhigh scores, just one change, Rabada comes back".
Meanwhile, DC captain Axar Patel, after losing the toss, said:
"We too wanted to bowl first, but we'll now looks to post a good total. We're taking one game at a time, not thinking too far ahead, not thinking too much about qualificiation, just taking it one at a time. I respect his personal decision (on Starc), but I want players to be 100% fit, just thinkabout the plans. The same combination - three pacers and three spinners, Vipraj Nigam replaces Madhav Tiwari, Mustafizur replaces Starc".

Pitch Report
"The dimensions of this ground - 58m and 66m square boundaries, the straight boundary is 71m. This is a used pitch and should be good for the spinners. Very hot, not a lot of wind, looks dry with a smattering of grass. It could grip and turn for the spinners, The average score batting first in the last 10 innings is 216, so there should be plenty of runs, but it could turn a bit for the spinners," Graeme Swann and Matthew Hayden analysed the pitch
Head-to-Head
DC and GT have locked horns with each other 6 times so far in IPL. While DC have won 3 matches, GT have emerged victorious on 3 occasion.
