'Don't think they have an upper hand...': Ex-RCB star's bold prediction for IPL 2025 clash between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians

Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Kedar Jadhav lavished praised on the three experienced spinners of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Noor Ahmad ahead of their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opener clash against Mumbai Indians which will take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

CSK and MI are the most successful franchises in the history of the IPL, both teams won five IPL titles. Speaking to the media on the opening day of the 18th edition of the cash-rich league, the former right-hand batter

"It is important to see how the pitch is being prepared for the three spinners. It is also important to see the pitch. If the pitch is dry, the spinners will come into the game. I don't think they will have an upper hand in the first half. In the second half, when the pitch is dry due to overheating, I think the three spinners will be a match-winning combination for CSK," JioStar Marathi Expert Kedar Jadhav told ANI.

 

 

CSK picked Ravichandran Ashwin during the IPL 2025 mega auction for Rs 9.75 crore. Ashwin is one of the greatest Indian players who played the game, he picked up 764 wickets in 286 matches across all formats for India. In 65 T20Is, he got 72 scalps at an average of around 23. Ashwin has played 212 IPL matches where he picked 180 wickets and scored 800 runs.

On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja is just eight-wicket shy of becoming CSK's leading wicket-taker in IPL. Jadeja is behind Dwayne Bravo's 140 wickets. If Jadeja goes on to make five appearances in the ongoing edition, he will become CSK's second-most-capped player for the franchise.

CSK also spent 10 crore on Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad in the mega action CSK and MI started bidding to get the player. In the end, GT used the Right To Match (RTM) option and raised the bid to Rs 10 crore, but they later pulled out.
