"Temptation is 100% of many things, but, I think, I haven't made 100% clarity in the discussion I was having with discussions with Zaheer Khan. I haven't decided with 100% clarity whether to open or stay in the middle order. Because, when you've been playing in the middle order for so many years, and you've done well, God has been kind, that I was doing okay in the IPL, so when you've been playing for so many years, you get used to a certain role" Pant told Sports Tak.

Pant also said that he won't want to make rash decisions based on external noise and he doesn't want to change his batting order overnight.

"I don't want to be making rash decisions like, okay, this is the external noise, let's do it too. And because for me, it's my life, it's my career, and this is something I live for. So I don't want to change that overnight, I want to think about it for some more time. I will discuss it with Zak Bhai. I will have more discussions with Justin about what we can and can't do. Eventually, I will back up whatever decisions we take" added Pant.

Pant will become the fourth player to lead the Lucknow-based franchise after Krunal Pandya, KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran. Rahul was the captain of LSG in the first three IPL seasons and led the side to the playoffs in the first two campaigns.
