New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips who stole the limelight with his fielding in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 picked Ravindra Jadeja as a better fielder than former India captain Virat Kohli. Phillips who is a part of Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 picked three nearly impossible catches in the ICC Champions Trophy.
Phillips' first extraordinary catch in the Champions Trophy came during New Zealand's tournament opener clash against Pakistan where he picked skipper Mohammad Rizwan's catch. The Pakistan captain cut the ball hard, and much like Kohli, would have expected a four for that shot. This time, Phillips threw himself to his left at point, and completed the catch.
The New Zealander's second catch came during the India vs New Zealand group-stage clash where he removed Virat Kohli which was a nearly impossible catch. His third extraordinary catch also came against India during the final of the mega event where he picked Shubman Gill's catch He plucked a catch out of thin air, from behind his head, to dismiss Gill off Mitchell Santner.
In the exclusive conversation with Sports Tak, Glenn Phillips said that Ravindra Jadeja is a better fielder because of his arm-throwing.
"They're both pretty good, but Jadeja's arm-throwing is ridiculous. So it might have to be Jadeja just because of the throwing" said Glenn Phillips.
India duo Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli are currently featuring in IPL 2025 where Kohli is featuring for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Ravindra Jadeja is representing Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Both CSK and RCB have won their tournament's opener clash and now will lock horns against each other on March 28.
