It all happened ahead of the SRH versus MI's IPL 2025 clash

The tense chat between Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya and head coach Mahela Jayawardene turned heads as he came right before their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on April 23.

Heated chat between Hardik Pandya and Mahela Jayawardene goes viral

Mahela Jayawardene was reinstated as the head coach of the Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2025 season, succeeding Mark Boucher, who held the coaching position in 2023 and 2024. Under the guidance of the new head coach, Mumbai Indians have displayed notable improvement in their performance in the ongoing IPL 2025. Despite a shaky start to the tournament, where they secured only one win in their initial five matches, Paltans have since made a stunning comeback, clinching a hat-trick of wins to ascend to the sixth position on the Indian Premier League 2025 points table.

However, what happened right ahead of the Sunrisers Hyderabad versus Mumbai Indians clash left everyone wondering whether all is well between the captain and coach duo.

MI captain Hardik Pandya was spotted getting engaged in an animated chat with coach Mahela Jayawardene. Hardik was seen in conversation with some Mumbai Indians team members, including Karn Sharma, standing next to Jayawardene before turning his attention towards the head coach and seemingly expressing his displeasure. MI skipper was seen speaking emphatically to Jayawardene, accompanied by animated hand gestures.

Following this exchange, Pandya walked away to begin his warm-up routine. Shortly thereafter, Jayawardene approached Pandya to initiate another conversation, but the MI skipper did not appear to be receptive to the interaction.
