Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will lock horns against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season on Sunday, May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After facing defeat in the Qualifier 1 clash, GT made a strong comeback by thrashing Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Qualifier 2 clash, where Shubman Gill won the Player of the Match Award for his stunning century that led his side to seal the game and reach finals.

Ahead of the final, let's just take a look at Shubman Gill's record in the IPL finals. The GT skipper has played three finals in IPL so far in his career, one while playing for KKR in 2021 and twice for GT in 2022 and 2023. Which means, tonight's final against RCB is going to be his fourth appearance in the ultimate clash of the season.

In three finals games, The India ODI and Test skipper has managed to amass 135 runs at an average of 45.00 with an underwhelming strike rate of 127.35.
In 2021, KKR locked horns against Chennai Super Kings in the final, where Gill 51 off 43 balls, where the Kolkata-based side lost the game by 27 runs. Shubman Gill featured in the 2022 final while playing for GT. In the 2022 final, The right-handed batter scored unbeaten 45 off 43 balls and led the GT to win the final against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
In 2023, GT reached the finals to lock horns against CSK. While batting first, Gill amassed only 39 runs off 20 balls, where CSK emerged victorious by five wickets.
Shubman Gill's record in IPL 2026
The GT skipper has enjoyed a terrific individual campaign in the IPL 2026 season, amassing mammoth 722 runs in just 15 games at an average of 48.13 with an aggressive strike rate of 163.72. The right-handed batter has managed to hit six seven half centuries and one century for the Gujarat-based side. He recorded his highest score of 104 off 53 balls against RR in the Qualifier 2 clash.
