CSK vs SRH Today Match Toss Update: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl first in their IPL 2025 clash at the Chepauk stadium on April 25.
What did the captains say after the toss?
After winning the toss, SRH captain Pat Cummins said:
"We gonna have a bowl first. Chennai is always a big game, coming off a couple of loses but it is a new venue and boys are up for it. If the wicket is good, backing them to get a big total and otherwise also, backing them to do well. The pitch looks a little bit dry."
Meanwhile, CSK skipper MS Dhoni, after losing the toss, said:
"Dew was the main reason why we also wanted to bowl first. Almost in all the departments when you are not playing good cricket, chances are there will be pressure on the other guys as well. We want to get the process right and that is what we are looking to aim for the rest of the games. We are looking at one game at a time and we are looking at few combinations and have confidence in your ability and execute what you want to. We are not too sure how the wicket is. The groundsmen are trying their level best, I feel the old red sil wicket was a good one, the one before 2010 Champions Trophy. We have made 2 changes"
CSK's playing XI

Pitch report
"70 metres on one side and 63 on the other side. 74 metres down the ground. Looks quite dry and very similar to what we have seen previously. It is going to be slightly on the slower side, bit of two-paced and I think the bowlers are going to use the change of pace and predicting a little bit of spin as well. Looks like it might be tricky," reckon Simon Doull and Michael Clarke
Head to Head record
CSK and SRH have locked horns with each other 21 times in IPL so far. While CSK have emerged victorious in 15 matches, SRH have clinched wins on 6 occasion.
