The final list of 574 players who will be up for auction at the IPL 2025 mega auction has been revealed by the BCCI. For the auction, 574 players were selected from a total of 1574 registered players. England speedster Jofra Archer was a major surprise withdrawal from the final roster. James Anderson, 42, makes the cut with a base price of Rs 1.25 crore, but Archer's name is missing. Archer failed to make the final list despite registering for the IPL 2025 super auction at a base price of Rs 2 crore.
70 of the 204 spots available to the 10 franchises are for players from other countries. Cameron Green, who was previously involved in a high-profile mega-trade between the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, is also not included in the final IPL 2025 auction list. The Australian all-rounder was acquired by RCB for a substantial fee of Rs 17 crore. However, because of his recent surgery to treat a chronic lower-back stress fracture, Green is conspicuously missing from the auction list.
Jofra Archer snubbed from the final list
The 28-year-old Archer has struggled to keep healthy over the past few years due to a string of elbow and back problems. However, he was able to put together a string of reliable white-ball cricket performances this summer, beginning in May and continuing through the T20 World Cup, The Hundred, and the limited-overs series against Australia. At 42, the retiring Anderson is hoping to be selected at auction and make his IPL debut.
