As the IPL 2025 is set to resume from Saturday, a few squads have undergone a little shake-up ahead of the start. Aside from DC, LSG, and GT, the Punjab Kings have also been hit with a modification. Injured Lockie Ferguson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, and in his place, the franchise has acquired the services of a Kiwi pacer who has previously represented RCB in the Indian Premier League.

Punjab Kings Lose Lockie Get Jamie
As per a fresh IPL Media Advisory, Punjab Kings have zeroed in on Kyle Jamieson as a replacement for the injured Lockie Ferguson. The Kiwi pacer had incurred a hamstring injury. The right-arm Kiwi pacer will join PBKS for INR 2 Crore.
Lockie Ferguson had played four games in IPL 2025 and snared five dismissals with an average of 20.80 and an economy of 9.17. While his departure could prove to be a huge setback for the PBKS, they are receiving a quality bowler as a replacement, who can also come in handy with the bat.

Punjab Kings Looking to Fetch the Playoff Spot
Punjab Kings are at an ideal position to qualify for the playoffs. The team has so far played 11 games and has won 7 out of them, losing three in the process, while one game ended as a no-contest due to rain. With 15 points, they are sitting pretty at the 3rd spot and are seemingly one win away from securing the playoff spot.
What can be concerning for the Kings is that till now, Jamieson has been devoid of success in the IPL. He has featured in just 9 games so far, that too he played back in IPL 2021 for RCB. It will be intriguing to note how he will fare if he gets the play time in the business end of the season. PBKS will resume proceedings on May 18, 2025, against the Rajasthan Royals.
