Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 100 runs to jump on the top of the points table of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The five-time champions dethroned Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to take the top spot with the highest net run-rate, than the Rajat Patidar-led side. MI won seven matches out of their 11 outings of the tournament and their net run-rate is 1.274 in seven wins. This is the third time MI has managed to register six consecutive wins in the IPL.
On the other hand, RCB has played 10 matches so far and won seven out of them. Their net run rate is .521. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans sit in the second, third and fourth places, respectively. After losing against MI, RR becomes the second team to get eliminated from the playoffs race of the IPL 2025 after five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, RR are currently eighth in the points table with eight losses in their 11 outings of the tournament so far. The franchise will play three more matches of the IPL 2025 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings respectively.
