Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 39 runs to register their sixth win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After being asked to bat, GT scored 198 runs for three wickets. Shubman Gill led the Gujarat-based franchise from the front, scoring 90 runs. While chasing, KKR managed to score 159 runs for eight wickets. After the dominant win against KKR, GT cemented her place at the top of the points table. GT becomes the first team this season to get 12 points. Their net run-rate also became 1.104.

On the other hand, GT has given a big blow to the Ajinkya Rahane-led KKR. The Kolkata-based franchise is currently seventh in the points table. A win would have taken it one position higher. The defeat of 39 runs has also hurt its net run rate, which was earlier 0.547 and now has become 0.212. Kolkata has also played eight matches and lost five.
