Punjab Kings (PBKS) made big gains in the IPL 2025 points table after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by five wickets at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on April 18. In a rain-curtailed match, RCB struggled with the bat and could only muster a total of 95 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 14 overs. This proved insufficient as PBKS successfully chased down the target, reaching the required runs with five wickets in hand and nearly two overs to spare, thereby inflicting a loss on RCB. The outcome of this match has resulted in a downward shift for RCB in the IPL 2025 points table standings, while Punjab Kings have improved their position.
Following their five-wicket victory over RCB, PBKS have climbed to the second position in the IPL 2025 points table. This win propelled PBKS up two spots in the standings. Conversely, both RCB and Gujarat Titans (GT) have each dropped one position in the league table as a consequence of this match.
Following their recent triumph, PBKS have reached the ten-point mark in the IPL 2025 points table. The Kings now possess a total of 10 points after having played seven matches in the current standings. In contrast, RCB remain at eight points after also having contested seven games. The shifting dynamics in the points table have also resulted in Gujarat Titans dropping to the third position, despite having accumulated eight points from a fewer six matches played.
This is how the updated IPL 2025 points table looks like after RCB vs PBKS clash:

1. Delhi Capitals | 6 | 5 | 1 | 0.744 | 10 |
