Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batters produced another brutal batting exhibition during their final league-stage clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

After opting to bat first, SRH piled up a massive total of 255 runs on the board, leaving the RCB bowling attack completely shattered and forcing multiple unwanted IPL records against the Bengaluru bowlers.

RCB bowlers suffer nightmare outing as SRH batters go berserk

SRH’s batting unit attacked from the very beginning and never allowed the RCB bowlers to settle into any rhythm.

Abhishek Sharma smashed 56 runs off just 22 balls, while Ishan Kishan continued the carnage with a sensational 79 off 46 deliveries.

Later in the innings, Heinrich Klaasen hammered 51 off only 24 balls and Nitish Kumar Reddy added a quickfire 29 off 12 as boundaries and sixes rained all around the ground.

During the run-fest, RCB’s star pacer and current Purple Cap holder Bhuvneshwar Kumar registered a major unwanted record.

The veteran seamer conceded 51 runs in his four-over spell without taking a wicket, marking the ninth time in IPL history that he has conceded 50 or more runs in an innings — the joint-most by any bowler in the tournament.

Most times, conceding 50+ runs in an IPL innings:

9 – Bhuvneshwar Kumar
9 – Mohammed Shami
8 – Mohammed Siraj

RCB also registered another unwanted IPL record during the innings.

Three RCB bowlers ended up conceding 50-plus runs in the same innings:

Josh Hazlewood – 55 runs
Rasikh Salam Dar – 52 runs
Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 51 runs

Most bowlers conceding 50+ runs in an IPL innings:

4 – RCB vs SRH, Bengaluru, 2024
3 – DC vs SRH, Delhi, 2024
3 – RR vs SRH, Hyderabad, 2025
3 – RCB vs SRH, Hyderabad, 2026

Rasikh Salam Dar, despite leaking runs, managed to pick up two wickets for RCB.

RCB’s top-two hopes depend on the chase

Apart from the humiliation with the ball, RCB also entered a crucial situation in the IPL 2026 points table battle.

To maintain their position inside the top two and secure a direct place in Qualifier 1, RCB now need to score at least 166 runs during the chase.

If they fail to cross that mark, the side risks slipping out of the top two positions and would then have to play the Eliminator in the playoffs instead.

With SRH posting another gigantic total, the pressure is now firmly on the RCB batting lineup to rescue both the match situation and their playoff positioning.
