Angkrish Raghuvanshi's dismissal sparked a lot of drama over on and off the field

Kolkata Knight Riders' star batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi faced a rare and controversial dismissal for 'obstructing the field' during IPL 2026 clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The incident occurred on the final ball of the fifth over when Raghuvanshi attempted a quick single after nudging a delivery from Prince Yadav toward mid-on.

Drama Erupts! Raghuvanshi given out for Obstruction in LSG-KKR clash

Cameron Green, on the non-striker end, quickly signaled him to return, but the ensuing throw from the field struck Raghuvanshi on the legs. Following an appeal from bowler Mohammed Shami and LSG captain Rishabh Pant, the third umpire ruled that Raghuvanshi had deliberately altered his running path to prevent the throw from reaching the wicketkeeper. The decision left the KKR camp in disbelief, and a visibly frustrated Raghuvanshi engaged in a heated argument with the on-field umpires before throwing his helmet in anger as he exited the field. Not just Raghuvanshi, even KKR head coach Abhishek Nayar was seen raging at the dugout and engaging with the umpire.

Leading up to the dramatic moment, LSG won the toss and elected to field first. KKR entered the match with an unchanged playing eleven, aiming to build on the momentum from their recent victory over the Rajasthan Royals, which marked their first win after seven matches. Conversely, the Rishabh Pant-led LSG squad looked to break a four-match losing streak and made a single adjustment to their lineup, bringing George Linde into the side for this crucial fixture.

Talking about the match, KKR suffered a batting collapse but still managed to put a competitive total of 155/7, thanks to Rinku Singh's blistering 51-ball 83.
