Story Highlights:

Shashank Singh has become talk of the town for all the wrong reasons in the IPL 2026

Shashank isn't making news for his batting this season, rather for dropping catches in the ongoing season

A new video featuring Arshdeep Singh has gone viral across social media, capturing a lighthearted moment between teammates during the 2026 IPL season. The clip, which appears to be filmed at an airport lounge, shows the PBKS pacer playfully mocking fellow player Shashank Singh while the team was in transit.

The teasing stems from Shashank’s recent struggles on the field, particularly a string of costly errors in the last few fixtures. During a match against LSG, Shashank dropped three catches and committed several fielding blunders. His luck didn't improve against Delhi Capitals, where he dropped KL Rahul early in the innings; that mistake proved pivotal, as Rahul went on to smash a massive 150-plus run knock.

Seizing the moment for some locker-room humor, Arshdeep targeted Shashank while he was attempting to nap on a bench in the public waiting area. Accompanied by another teammate, Arshdeep tried to wake him up and loudly reenacted Shashank’s dropped catches. Despite the public ribbing, Shashank seemed unfazed, choosing to ignore the antics and close his eyes to resume his nap.

While the video showcases the team’s camaraderie, Arshdeep’s own form has also been under the microscope. The 27-year-old seamer has struggled for consistency in the 2026 season, managing only 8 wickets in 8 matches with a high economy rate of 10.96. His most recent outing against the Rajasthan Royals was particularly tough, as he conceded 68 runs in his four overs while picking up just a single wicket.

PBKS recently suffered their first defeat of the IPL 2026 season in a high-scoring clash against RR. Playing at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium, the Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS side set a formidable total of 222 runs in their allotted 20 overs, losing only four wickets in the process. Despite the strong batting display, the target proved insufficient against a clinical Rajasthan pursuit.

RR chased down the total with impressive composure to secure a crucial victory over the current table-toppers. The win was anchored by a blistering, unbeaten partnership between Donovan Ferreira and Shubham Dubey. Ferreira smashed 52* off just 26 deliveries, while Dubey provided explosive support with a quickfire 31* off 12 balls, ensuring Royals reached the finish line with ease.
