RR defeated CSK by six runs.

Nitish Rana scored 81 off 36 against CSK.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) star batter Nitish Rana revealed that coaches Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathour suggested his promotion in the batting order. Nitish, who was supposed to bat at number four, came to bat early after Yashasvi Jaiswal's wicket in the first over against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 11 of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

The batter played a game-changing 81 off 36 run knock after RR lost their first wicket in the first over bowled by Khaleel Ahmed. Rana's batting helped the inaugural IPL champions to put 182 runs on board.

"It was a tactical move today from the coaches. It was suggested by them, I am okay to bat at any position. We had a conversation in the dressing room between Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathour, and it was decided that I will bat at three today" said Nitish Rana after getting the  Player of the Match award.

Rana, who smashed 10 boundaries and 5 sixes, revealed that he wanted to utilize the powerplay because it would be tough to score with the old ball.

"I was just trying to ultiise the new ball. The powerplay was important as the older ball turns and stops. I wanted to play the field, rather than the wicket or the bowler. Whenever fine leg or third-man was up, I just had to use the bowlers pace. I felt I was hitting the ball too hard in the previous two games, that is something I analysed and changed today" Rana also said.

After defeating CSK in their third clash, RR are currently ninth in the points table tally. Rajasthan will now face Punjab Kings on April 5.
