Oram has represented 3 IPL franchises.

Pakistan journalists seem to have an obsession of comparing Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL). After asking Adam Zampa, Rilee Rossouw about their opinion, confronting Kusal Mendis for leaving PSL midway last season, they asked former New Zealand all-rounder Jacob Oram, who is currently assistant coach of Islamabad United, to comment on South Africa’s ‘IPL is more like a movie’ comment.

"Did you say like a movie?" Oram asked the journalist during post-match press conference.

"They're similar tournaments, but they're very different. That's twice as long, the IPL," he continued.

"I haven't coached in the IPL. I played in the IPL and that was a long time ago and it has grown into a bit of a behemoth," he further added.

Oram wants crowds to be back at PSL

Oram shared his experience at PSL and how he has been treated. However, he wishes that there were crowds at the stadium and PSL wasn’t being played under closed doors.

"This is my first opportunity in the PSL and I'm loving it. The Islamabad United group, from staff to players, have been so welcoming. We are well looked after, well catered for, so far, so good here."

"I'd love to have crowds here for that vibe and atmosphere," he said.

Currently, PSL is being played at only venues — Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium and Karachi's National Stadium. The opening ceremony was cancelled as well due to huge rise in oil prices following Iran-Israel-US war affecting movement of ships from Strait of Hormuz.

Islamabad United lose to Hyderabad Kingsmen

Meanwhile, Oram's PSL franchise Islamabad United suffered their third loss from six games. The Chris Green-led side lost to Hyderabad Kingsmen by six wickets. Skipper Marnus Labuschagne scored an unbeaten 53-ball 61 in the run chase of 157. Despite the loss, United remain in contention for the playoffs.
