Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star speedster Yash Dayal’s anticipatory bail plea has been rejected by a Jaipur court in connection with an alleged sexual assault case, NDTV reported. Judge Alka Bansal of the Jaipur Metropolitan Court said that the evidence currently available does not suggest that Dayal has been falsely implicated, and that the investigation indicates his possible involvement. As a result, bail cannot be granted at this stage.
Complaints against Yash Dayal
The case against Yash Dayal was registered at the Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur. The complainant, a minor, has alleged that Dayal lured her with promises of advancing her cricket career, blackmailed her, and assaulted her over a period of more than two years, including incidents at hotels in Jaipur and Kanpur. Police are examining chats, photos, videos from the girl’s phone, call records, and hotel stay details as part of the evidence under the POCSO Act.
Yash Dayal's advocate on allegations
Dayal's advocate, Kunal Jaiman, argued that his client only met the girl in public places, never alone, and that she had presented herself as an adult. The defence also claimed she accepted money from Dayal due to financial difficulties and later demanded more, linking a similar case in Ghaziabad as part of an alleged extortion conspiracy. Despite these points, the court refused to grant bail.
Dayal's petitions
In his petition, Dayal maintained that the allegations are false and were made to harass him. He described himself as a law-abiding cricketer and claimed he was being framed. He also assured the court of full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
Government lawyer Rachna Maan, representing the complainant, said that the accused had lured the minor with false promises related to her cricket career and established physical relations. Maan highlighted that any consent given by a minor is not valid under the law.
