Rajasthan Royals claimed a comfortable win over Mumbai Indians to secure a playoff berth in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. The Riyan Parag-led side clinched a 30-run while defending 206 against a solid batting line-up of MI. Now, the Rajasthan-based franchise will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator of the tournament, as they claimed fourth place in the points table.

Ahead of the important clash against SRH, RR head coach Kumar Sangakkara has issued a warning to his players to give their level best against the Orange Army, as they have top-performers in the line-up.

"They’re a good side, aren’t they? They bat well. They trust themselves to go hard and they’ve done it the whole tournament," said Sangakkara during the game against MI.

Sangakkara admitted what kind of challenge they are going face in the next clash. He urged his players to stay disciplined against a attacking side like SRH. The former Sri Lanka captain asked his players to hold attacking lines against SRH batters, as they are going to play in the same fashion.

“We know what we’re going to face. We have got to hold the line, really. Be disciplined and understand that they’re not a side that you’re going to limit to 120, 130. But we’ve got to be aggressive (with our) lines and lengths," added Sangakkara.

Jofra Archer's brilliant all-round performance against MI

While batting first, Jofra Archer was promoted up in the batting order at No.7, and played a key quick-fire cameo of  32 runs off just 15 balls. With Archer's fiery knock RR managed to post 205/8 at the end of first innings.

In the second innings, Archer produced a masterclass spell of 3/17 in four overs. He took key wickets of Rohit Sharma, Naman Dhir and Hardik Pandya which dismantled MI's batting order.

Comfortable win for RR

Eventually, the Royals emerged as victors by 30 runs and Archer was given the Player of the Match award for his all-round show in a crucial game for the Rajasthan-based franchise. After the game, Archer opened up on his all-round performance which came as a surprise for many.
