LSG vs CSK toss: MS Dhoni drops two veteran stars after electing to bowl first, Rishabh Pant announced return of top performer

Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants is competing against MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings in match 30 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which is being played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, on April 14 (Monday). LSG are currently in the fourth spot, and a win here would allow them to take the top spot on the points table. On the other hand, CSK are at the bottom after suffering five consecutive defeats. Dhoni made his return as a skipper in the previous game but suffered a brutal defeat at the hands of KKR.

CSK won the toss and elected to bowl first. They have dropped their veteran stars Devon Conway and Ravichandran Ashwin from the line-up. Shaik Rasheed and Jamie Overton get spots in their place. However, LSG would be happy with the return of star batter Mitchell Marsh, who is one of their leading run-scorer this season.

"We are blessed, we get good support wherever we go. 'Thank you', to all the fans. We want to bowl first, there's chances of dew here. The wicket gets better in the second innings. It's important to set the right temperament. We haven't been consistent with our batting. With the ball we have strong back strong. It's important to have a positive mindset, play those big shots. It's a matter of time. We have a couple of changes. Overton and Rasheed come in for Ash and Conway," said MS Dhoni at toss.

"It's just amazing. We would have bowled first. In Lucknow it's slower in the first innings, gets better gradually. The only thing we talked about CSK is that we don't want to give them an opening, just need to give our 100%. We want to go out there and play good cricket. Only one change - Marsh comes back in for Himmat Singh," said Rishabh Pant.
