Highlights:

KL Rahul will play his first match against former franchise LSG.

Delhi Capitals' top-order has not been consistent.

DC need more from their pace attack.

The first nail-biter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 took place between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC). Ashutosh Sharma played his best IPL knock to snatch a victory against Rishabh Pant's side. However, one person missing from that high-voltage encounter was KL Rahul who was with his wife for the birth of their first child. This time, Rahul returns to his old playground, Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow and once again it is expected to be a high-octane encounter.

On paper, these are two mismatched sides. LSG look stronger on paper than they were in the first game. If Mayank Yadav returns, it will further boost them. However, DC have managed to overcome their limitations, whether it is injuries or star player pulling out of the season. DC have five wins from seven games. They have not lost a single game comprehensively. On the other hand, LSG have five wins from eight games.

LSG vs DC Toss Prediction:

The pitch has enough for both batters and bowlers. So far, three out of four wins at the venue this season have come to teams chasing. The captain winning the toss may look to bowl first.

LSG vs DC Top Performers:

While Mitchell Starc stole the limelight by nailing yorkers after yorkers in the super over clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR), left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has been the team's silent assassin. Kuldeep has 12 wickets from seven games and has an economy rate of 6.25 runs per over.

DC's top-order is yet to fire. Jake Fraser-McGurk is yet to fire whereas Faf du Plessis has been on the sidelines due to injury. Abishek Porel and Karun Nair have their task cut out. Also, the responsibility is on Rahul to be the anchor and aggressor. Rahul has scored 266 runs from six innings at an average of 53.20 including two fifties. He has four fifties at the venue.

It has been the opposite for LSG. Their top-order is on fire. Nicholas Pooran has scored 368 runs from eight innings and will be looking to get the orange cap back from Gujarat Titans' (GT) Sai Sudharsan. Openers Mitchell Marsh (299 runs) and Aiden Markram (274 runs) have been impressive as well. In the bowling department, Shardul Thakur has been expensive but has managed to take 12 wickets from eight games. While Ravi Bishnoi has performed in patches, Digvesh Rathi has nine wickets from eight games. LSG will expect more from their death overs speciallist Avesh Khan against DC who are capable of posting a big total on the board.

LSG vs DC Win Probability:

When LSG came into existence, they beat DC in both matches in their maiden season. LSG won the first three but DC have found a way to dominate. They have won three in a row as well. They have one win each in Lucknow as well. The last time DC played LSG, Porel and Tristan Stubbs scored fifties and DC won by 19 runs.
