Arshdeep now sits comfortably at the top of the franchise's all-time wicket-taking list, having surpassed several prominent names. Behind him is former Indian spinner Piyush Chawla, who accounted for 84 wickets in his 87 matches for the team between 2008 and 2013. Following Chawla is Sandeep Sharma, now with the Rajasthan Royals, who previously took 73 wickets in 61 appearances for Punjab.
The all-time record for the most wickets taken for a single IPL franchise is currently held by Sunil Narine. The veteran spinner has been a cornerstone of the Kolkata Knight Riders since his debut in 2012, amassing an incredible 195 wickets in 193 appearances. Following closely in second place is India’s Jasprit Bumrah, who has claimed 183 wickets across 150 matches for the Mumbai Indians.
Arshdeep continued to add to his own impressive tally shortly after reaching his 100-wicket milestone. After dismissing Ryan Rickelton, who was caught by Shashank Singh—Arshdeep struck again on the second ball of his third over. This time, he removed the dangerous Suryakumar Yadav, with Yuzvendra Chahal completing the catch to leave the Mumbai Indians' top order in further trouble.
The 27-year-old ended up notching a sensational spell of 3/22 as MI ended up posting a competitive total of 195/6.
