Compared to other 9 teams PBKS had the least retentions and the maximum purse going into the IPL 2025 mega auction and they made full use of it. Punjab Kings retained two uncapped players Shashank Singh and their home grown superstar PrabhSimran Singh. Punjab Kings went with the right intent and have finally gave their fans a lot of hopes with such a brilliant squad assembled with prominent cricketers all set to don PBKS jersey in IPL 2025.

Talking about their last season, Despite them winning some crucial game on the backs on their youngster Ashutosh Sharma, Shashank and Prabhsimran they finished 9th in the point table with 5 wins and 9 losses.
