Punjab Kings Squad IPL 2025: Punjab Kings had made it clear with their retentions and with their new coaching staff bringing in World Cricket's most successful captain as their head Ricky Ponting, that it is looking to change fortunes and would like to build things from scratch. Punjab Kings made just two retentions prior to the IPL mega auctions that took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Compared to other 9 teams PBKS had the least retentions and the maximum purse going into the IPL 2025 mega auction and they made full use of it. Punjab Kings retained two uncapped players Shashank Singh and their home grown superstar PrabhSimran Singh. Punjab Kings went with the right intent and have finally gave their fans a lot of hopes with such a brilliant squad assembled with prominent cricketers all set to don PBKS jersey in IPL 2025.

How have Punjab Kings fared in IPL so far?

Punjab Kings is yet to win it's first IPL trophy and the only year that they came close was the IPL 2014 where they lost the final to Kolkata Knight Riders. Since then Punjab Kings has not been able to even qualify for the Top 4 even once. Talking about their last season, Despite them winning some crucial game on the backs on their youngster Ashutosh Sharma,  Shashank and Prabhsimran they finished 9th in the point table with 5 wins and 9 losses. PBKS created history last season where they  produced a record-breaking run-chase against their nemesis KKR. PBKS broke South Africa's record to record the highest successful run-chase in T20 history.
