Punjab Kings Squad IPL 2025: Punjab Kings (PBKS) made their intentions clear right from the word go by securing the services of Shreyas Iyer for a record-breaking Rs. 26.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, which was held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, where 577 players went under the hammer. Iyer, earlier became the most expensive player in the history of IPL, but only for some time as Rishabh Pant later surpassed him by fetching a mind boggling sum of Rs 27 crore. The franchise also retained Arshdeep Singh for Rs.18 crore and acquired Yuzvendra Chahal for the same amount. On the second day of the auction, PBKS further strengthened their squad by signing promising foreign all-rounders like Azmatullah Omarzai, Marco Jansen, and Aaron Hardie.

PBKS, entered the IPL 2025 mega auction with the biggest purse of Rs 110.5 crore and they made full use of it. Compared to other 9 teams PBKS had the least retentions. Punjab Kings retained two uncapped players Shashank Singh and their homegrown superstar PrabhSimran Singh.

How have Punjab Kings fared in IPL so far?

Punjab Kings is yet to win it's first IPL trophy and the only year that they came close was the IPL 2014 where they lost the final to Kolkata Knight Riders. Since then Punjab Kings has not been able to even qualify for the Top 4 even once. Talking about their last season, Despite them winning some crucial game on the backs on their youngster Ashutosh Sharma,  Shashank and Prabhsimran they finished 9th in the point table with 5 wins and 9 losses. PBKS created history last season where they produced a record-breaking run-chase against their nemesis KKR. PBKS broke South Africa's record to record the highest successful run-chase in T20 history.
