Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar talked about Virat Kohli's intent as an opener during the toss for their IPL 2025 clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Chepauk stadium on March 28.
Rajat Patidar on Virat Kohli's intent
RCB lost the toss and were put to bat first against CSK. Once again RCB openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt took the crease with an intent to notch another win for their team. Both Virat Kohli and Phil Salt played blistering knocks in RCB's stunning seven-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). While Kohli cracked an unbeaten 36-ball 59, Phil Salt struck a lightning 31-ball 56 to help RCB chase down the 175-run target with 22 balls to spare.
During the toss RCB captain Rajat Patidar was all praise for his openers Kohli and Salt.
After losing the toss, Patidar said:
"We wanted to bowl but surface looks hard, wouldn't have made a big difference. It's important to bring out the best every day, want to do that tonight also. Bowling unit showed courage last game after 13 tough overs, that was heartening. Openers (Virat Kohli, Phil Salt) showing intent was impressive too. RCB vs CSK is one of the best games because of how fans support both teams. One change: Bhuvi comes in place of Rasikh".
Meanwhile, after winning the toss, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad said:
"Wicket will play slightly better than last game, looking to chase whatever the score is. So far, there has been no dew but you never know when it'll arrive. It's an uncontrollable but we have planned better for it. We were slightly behind in the field, need to improve there. One change: Pathirana comes back for Ellis".
